Battles and EvolutionIf you haven't read the rules, which is a shame because you wouldn't have been accepted without doing so, then you would know that some of this guide is located in the rules page. Please refer here if you ever have questions concerning battling or Evolution. If something isn't clear to you ask in the Questions and Suggestion Forum. ~ Defeated Wild Pokemon give you one level per pokemon that didn't faint. ~ Being defeated grants your fainted pokemon one level in any situation. If in a double battle, the remaining partner does not gain a level. ~ Unofficial trainer battles give your unfainted pokemon two levels for defeating another person's pokemon. ~ Official battles (held at the Grand Arena) give your unfainted pokemon three levels for defeating another person's pokemon. ~ Gym battles give your unfainted pokemon four levels for defeating official league pokemon. ~ When starting out you may have three pokemon, two of which can be up to level 10, one of which may be up to level 15. ~ Clearly label what level you acquired your pokemon at in your profile. This is to ensure that we don't have any cheaters. ~ Clearly label how your pokemon gained all future levels in your profile. This is to ensure that we don't have any cheaters. ~ You don't have to battle to gain levels. There are Rare Candy Packs in the Tsunami Strip. You can claim pages on the Advert. You can earn levels while surviving activity checks... the list is endless. ~ For winning a trainer battle(official or unofficial) you get 10 nuggets. ~ For losing a trainer battle(official or unofficial) you get 5 nuggets. ~ Draws result in 5 nuggets each. ~ONLY your STARTING pokemon may have ONE Egg or Tutored move each. No restrictions. Then after that, unless an Admin or Mod says so, it will have no Egg/Tutor/Special moves by default. Otherwise what would be the point of breeders and breeding pokemon with cool movesets? ~ TM's are free, feel free to teach your pokemon any TM's that they can -the-learn (using only the most current generation moveset) ~ If your pokemon must be a certain level to learn a move (that isn't available via TM) then it doesn't know that move and never will until it reaches said level. ~ HM's are also free with the exception of SURF. You may still use this in battle if you wish, but this HM is needed in order to reach the further parts of Lalo Mai Bay. (You can purchase this along with other items in the Tsunami Strip) ~ When in battle, you may only post one move per pokemon per post. ~ You are limited to three dodges per pokemon, use them wisely. Moves such as Protect and Detect and Substitute do not count as dodges. ~ The move Substitute is limited to 3 posts. Your Substitute must break on the fourth post. ~ Pokemon that you acquire in the wild do not have eggmoves(by default) unless the person roleplaying your wild pokemon has permission from an admin. ~ You must clearly mark your movesets by categories: Learnsets, Egg/Tutored Moves, special/other(usually given by an admin), TM's & HM's. ~ You must purchase any tutored moves you'd like to give your pokemon at the Tsunami Strip. Pokemon Evolution ~ Unless it's been specifically stated, you may evolve your pokemon OOC. ~ Pokemon that Evolve through Happiness will evolve in five levels or seven days after acquiring them--which ever one comes later. ~ You may not start your journey with an evolved pokemon unless it naturally evolves under lvl15. Examples of this are Beedrill, Butterfree, Quilava, etc. etc. This is to make it fair for everyone so we don't have a million newbies with Arcanines, Rhydons etc.. ~ If your pokemon evolves via Trading, you may go to the Trading Post in the Melting Pot to ask the Day Care branch to trade your pokemon for a day or two so that it evolves. Once traded away you may not use your pokemon in any new threads until you get it back. This service is free and costs nothing. ~ Feebas evolves into Milotic via max beauty. Since there's really no way to judge max beauty, we classify Feebas' evolution with Happiness ~ If you have a pokemon that evolves at certain timee of the day or in a specific place (examples: Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon), then you must roleplay this out in a similar place or time of day after neeting all other requirements if any. ~ Pokemon that evolve while holding an item and leveling do not have to level in order to evolve. ~ Pokemon that evolve with stones evolve once exposed to their stone. ~ All evolution items may be found for sale at the Tsunami Strip. |
